Many Occurences

Posted on December 12, 2010 at 11:24 AM

On the 10th of December, the Commune of The Stig (and therefore Kravat Oblast) expanded to include the whole property of TH Mayor Jeremy. On this day, another boat was registered in our Navy, namely "The Clarksoon", currently kept in the Commune of The Stig. Also on this day, whilst cleaning his desk, HIM Tsar Kuri I discovered a document (the Pile Document) that clearly described the foundation date and laws of Gishabrun's little-known ancestor; The Wild Isle micronation. On it was written that the Wild Isle nation was founded on the 23rd of June 2009, pushing the date of our foundation back one day.

The Stig Oblast and Kravat Oblast Merge!

Posted on December 10, 2010 at 4:10 PM

Yesterday, The Stig Oblast has joined Kravat Oblast as the Commune of The Stig, with its' Mayor being The Honorable Jeremy Clarksoon. The area that was Kravat before the unification has become the Commune of Kravat, with its' Mayoral position being vacant. There shall be elections within the Commune of Kravat, and all citizens of the Commune of Kravat will be eligible to vote (with the exception of those who are candidates).

New Oblast Joined!

Posted on December 6, 2010 at 7:02 PM

Today, a new oblast, namely Potatoman's Room Oblast, has joined our mighty Gishabrunian Empire, raising our total population from 15 to 16. With its' joining, a division of the LOB called the Police Force will enforce the Imperial Laws and bring wrongdoers to the attention of The Council, as mention in our constitution. The leader of the Police Forces is Potatoman.

Also, today was the date that the Abolition of the Krais Act (2010) was passed, returning all krais too far away from any Gishabrunian oblasts or Autonomous Regions to be visited and watched easily, leaving our Empire with only Wild Isle Krai, Carolinian Krai, and Ancient Willow Krai, and makes it illegal to claim any krai that is too distant from any Gishabrunian inhabited areas to be visited easily. "This will make our claims much more realistic," says HIM Tsar Kuri I, "Now we can easily monitor foreign activity in our three remaining krais, and enforce our laws upon them."

New National Dish!

Posted on November 17, 2010 at 5:40 PM

Today, the people of Gishabrun have decided upon our national dish - the "Grenka", a sort of fried egg-bread that looks like this...

How to make them:

  Ingredients:

  1. Bread
  2. Egg(s)
  3. Vegetable oil

  Procedure:

  1. Crack egg(s) into bowl, mix until white and yolk are mixed.
  2. Dip bread in this bowl, until both sides of bread are dripping with egg liquid.
  3. Pour oil on frying pan so that the oil barely covers the pan surface.
  4. Put bread on pan.
  5. Fry for about five (5) minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Flip bread to other side and repeat step 5.
  7. DONE!

We hope you enjoy this new cultural item.

In other news, a new oblast, namely Sméagol-Gollum-Gollum oblast, has joined Gishabrun, raising the population from 14 to 15.

New and Expanded Oblast

Posted on November 10, 2010 at 5:46 PM

Today, a new oblast, namely Llama Oblast, has joined the Tsarist Empire of Gishabrun, under the leadership of TRH Ambassador Mr. Llama. This has raised the population of Gishabrun from 13 to 14.

Also, Somewhere Oblasts expanded a few days ago on the 3rd of November to include a grassy field behind the house of HEE Sovetus I, giving us a possible area to fight in in case of war.

Tobacco Act Ammended!

Posted on November 8, 2010 at 5:29 PM

A few days ago, the Tobacco Act (2010) was changed so that non-citizens of Gishabrun may legally smoke in krais, while in oblasts smoking is still illegal.

Annina Kravat Annexation Treaty Signed!

Posted on November 5, 2010 at 6:54 PM

As you may know, the Principality of Annina Kravat, previously an independent micronation, became a part of the Tsarist Empire of Gishabrun (at the time known as the Tsardom of Moya Kravat) in early 2010. However, there was no treaty signed between the two parties, formally continuing Annina Kravat's existance...until now! Upon noticing this mistake, HIM Tsar Kuri I wrote the treaty of formal annexation, which was signed by both Gishabrun and Anna I, the Princess of Annina Kravat. "This is a very emabarrassing mistake," says HIM Tsar Kuri I, "Such belated treaties will not happen again!"

In other news, Gishabrun's area and population has expanded once more through the Autonomous Empire of Maccrage, as two new lesser districts (federal subjects within federal subjects) were captured. The first, captured yesterday, is a large, uninhabited 'territory' called Tallasar; and the second, captured today, is an inhabited 'state' called Nurthis. The annexation of Nurthis raised the population of Gishabrun as a whole from 12 to 13.

Coat of Arms Changed!

Posted on October 30, 2010 at 11:47 AM

Today, the Imperial Heraldic Authority, under the leadership of HIM Tsar Kuri I, reformed the National Armorial Achievement of Gishabrun, so as to make it of better quality and more realistic details. "We have been considering this for many months," says HIM Tsar Kuri I on behalf of the IHA, "Now, instead of our badly drawn previous version, we have a professional-looking one, increasing our chances of gaining independence!" The coat of arms itself took three days to make.

Huge New Krai Annexed!

Posted on October 26, 2010 at 7:20 PM

Today, while on a LOB special excursion through Canadian territory, HIM Tsar Kuri I and HEE Sovetus I captured a new krai, namely Carolinian Krai. The land captured is forested hills, with a cliff on the borders. Because of this, the krai has an enormous selection of biodiversity, containing species such as Ostrich Ferns, Oak Trees, Sugar Maples, White-tailed Deer, etc... This Krai is also our largest, being more than twice as large as all our other claims. "Carolinian Krai is a great krai," says HIM Tsar Kuri I, "It will open up opportunities for Scientific Research, Military Training, Sustainable Exploitation of Natural Resources, and will be the first stepping-stone on the pathway to Gishabrun's independence." It contains a river, which could be used for fishing, sugar maples, which could be used for maple syrup, and a large quantity of edible plants that could be used to Gishabrun's advantage (in an environmentally-friendly way, of course!). Because of Carolinian Krai, Gishabrun's area has nearly quadrupled in size. It completely consists of a national park of the same name.

The Council Reforms!

Posted on September 29, 2010 at 6:48 PM

Today, The Council, the legislature and governing body of Gishabrun made up of all the Ambassadors of Oblasts, passed the "Council Reform Act (2010)", which authorised the reform of the national legislature from a unicameral system to a tricameral system. The changes include the renaming of The Council (consisting of all Ambassadors of Oblasts) to The Oblastian Assembly, creating a second council consisting of all Governors of Autonomous Regions (which were previously unrepresented in Gishabrunian politics) named The Chamber of Comrades, and creating a third council (consisting of a Consul (representative) from the Oblastian Assembly (elected by Gishabrunian citizens residing in Oblasts), a Consul from the Chamber of Comrades (elected by Gishabrunian citizens residing in Autonomous Regions), and HIM the Tsar (as Consul of the Krais, non-elected) called the Elite Duma. All three councils together are called The Council of Gishabrun.

As the position of Consul of the Oblasts is currently vacant, please vote in the upcoming elections on the 1st of October 2010.

The War has Ended!

Posted on September 17, 2010 at 9:18 PM

Today, HIM Tsar Kuri I signed the Bench War Treaty to signify the formal end of the Bench War, which began as a dispute over the ownership of a small bench between us and the Unnamed Empire on the 20th of July, 2010. The treaty also ensured that the Unnamed Empire become a part of Gishabrun as an autonomous region, namely the Autonomous Empire of Macragge. This basically means that they have all the rights of an oblast, except for the fact that their leader is not a part of The Council, and they abide by their own laws. This raised our population from 9 to 10, and also made us a Fifth World nation. Both Empires thank all who participated in the war or the treaty-drafting.

Posted on September 5, 2010 at 1:39 PM

As of today, The Council has decided that the trade, growth, and use of the tobacco plant and any of its' derived substances and products is illegal everywhere  in the Tsarist Empire of Gishabrun (except if that tobacco or derived substance is used for medical, religious, or scientific purposes). This is to ensure that no tobacco-related illnesses or deaths happen in Gishabrun. If you see anybody trading, growing, and otherwise using tobacco or its' derived substances on Gishabrunian territory, it is your duty to kindly tell them to leave or dispose of the tobacco outside the borders. If the offender does not react after you tell him kindly to do what is described above three times, you have the right to confiscate/destroy the tobacco product and/or force the offender to exit from Gishabrunian land and/or charge the offender any amount of money between 1 Canadian cent and 10 Canadian dollars, inclusive, or the equivalent amount in any other modern currency. Thank you.

However, a friend of HIM the Tsar who was traveling with him, namely Cyril, the Emperor of the Unnamed Empire, disputed the new krai, claiming that the bench was Unnamed territory. This sparked a small conflict called The Bench War. After a few scuffles and fights, the Imperial Army declared peace and in return gave The Unnamed Empire 5/6ths of the bench (about 1 square metre), while Gishabrun got to keep the rest. The Krai was declared a Park (which means tourists may visit it regularly) and the Ancient willow was declared a National Monument. Ancient Willow Krai has 12.5 square metres of land.
